Prachi Tirth
DirectionPrachi Tirth, situated along the banks of the Hiran River in the Gir Somnath district, is a highly revered ancient pilgrimage site. Historically significant and referenced in texts like the Padma Puran, it is often considered a spiritual “vortex” where the river takes an eastward turn. The site features a complex of ancient Shiva temples, stepped ghats, and sacred kunds (pools). It is particularly famous as a destination for performing Shraddha and pind daan (ancestral rites), with local tradition suggesting that Lord Krishna performed these ceremonies here.

How to Reach
By Air
The nearest airport is Diu Airport (DIU), located approximately 85–90 km away. Rajkot Airport (approx. 170–180 km) serves as a larger alternative with more frequent flight connections.
By Train
The nearest railhead is Prachi Road Junction. However, for better connectivity, many travelers prefer arriving at Veraval Railway Station , which is well-connected to major Indian cities, and then traveling by road to the site.
By Road
Prachi Tirth is located on the Somnath–Bhavnagar highway, about 20–25 km from the main Somnath Temple. It is easily accessible via local buses, private taxis, or rented cars from nearby towns like Somnath, Veraval, and Una.
